T
he ceramic filter cartridge incorporated in the Triflow System is one of the
highest performing filters available in the market today and is manufactured
exclusively for Triflow Concepts in Switzerland. The filter cartridge is made of
sintered diatomaceous earth and has a microporous structure impregnated with
silver which is known for its bactericidal action. The pore size is so small it is able
to remove particles down to 0.2 microns, (0.0002 mm) in size, and will significantly
reduce harmful chemical and biological contaminants, including radioactive
Iodine-131, as well as most heavy metals, while leaving untouched beneficial minerals
such as fluoride, magnesium and calcium.

One pound of activated carbon contains a surface area of approximately
125 acres and can absorb literally thousands of different chemicals. Activated
carbon has a slight electro-positive charge, making it even more effective at
eliminating chemicals and impurities. As the water passes over the positively
charged carbon surface, the negative ions of the contaminants are drawn to
the surface of the carbon granules.
